Hold On To the Promises
Hebrew 8:6. But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises. 7. For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8 But God found fault with the people and said: “The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. 9. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord. 10. This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 11. No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.
The New Covenant given to Israel is far better than the old. No longer will the sacrificing of bulls or goats please God, instead the sacrifice of Jesus the Lamb slain before the foundations of the world, was sufficient. It was Jesus’ blood that made the atonement between God and man allowing the Vail that separated to be torn right down the middle. Jew and Gentile now have access to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. We now live under the New Covenant that is filled with promises. These promises can bring us to a place where we are walking by faith not by sight and no matter what may come our way, we trust in His Promises that everything will be alright. So, bind fear and despair and say I will hold on to God’s Promises. He promised life to the full, that includes our health, wealth and spiritual needs. We are the head, and not the tail, above and not beneath, and we walk in God’s favor.
But, what about the times we call out to God and it seems as if there is no answer! Some reading this article are faced with loneliness, bitterness and tears. The wave of dept is over your head and you are drowning in a sea of guilt and despair. You have cried and cried, and it seems as if the enemy is laughing, trying to get you to doubt and walk away from God. Your knees are sore from the constant bending down to pray and the pain seems too unbearable. Another day would resemble hell itself, so don’t worry, God has you in the palm of His Hand. If you have to hold on another day, then another and then another, I write this article for you and if we were standing face to face, I would say simply “DON’T GIVE UP”! The Lord God is not finished with you yet. There are some more mountains to climb, and valleys to cross but rest assured that as long as you hold on to the promises you will make it to your Destiny. Remember God is not a man that He should tell a lie, if he said it, it will happen. Read about these promises in the Bible and hold on to them. Be Healed in Jesus Name and hold on to the Promises!
