Broken and Yet Valuable

Broken and Yet Valuable

Zephaniah 3:15. The Lord has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any harm. 16. On that day they will say to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, Zion; do not let your hands hang limp. 17. The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Many of us at one time or another have suffered being broken, and it’s not a good feeling.   Being broken often times leave us with a feeling of despair, which then opens doors into our hearts that were once impenetrable, to become exposed.  These open doors if not closed will allow a diabolical plot by the enemy to speak into our mind, producing a seed of guilt and shame, that can lead us away from faith in God, Family or even Friends.  As a result, we can lose what Father God intended for us to have from the very start of Creation, our value and our authority!

Since the creation of Adam, Satan has not changed the way he operates and many have fallen for the lies he mutters as if they were profound truths.  Eve found out firsthand the power of believing a lie, when the serpent possessed by Satan begin to speak; Genesis 3: 1. Now the serpent was craftier than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” 2. The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3. but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” 4. “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. 5. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Eve ate the fruit and gave it to her husband and he did eat!  Their eyes were opened and the Glory that clothed them lifted, and was later replaced by a curse.  When they fell they became broken, and were kicked out of the Garden of Eden!  The honeymoon was over, and it revealed that Satan’s first attack on mankind was simply getting Eve to not believe what Father God had said, and then he covered it up with another lie that this fruit will make them wise and make them like God.  Satan’s success caused them to be disobedient to God!

But God Who is merciful and true, will always keep His Word, as seen in the Book of Zephaniah.  Scripture tells us in Amos 3:7. Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. Father God revealed to Zephaniah that judgement was coming upon the face of the earth for an appointed time.  Every living creature will be wiped out from the earth due, to the wickedness of its inhabitants.  Yet in the midst of this judgment Father God remembers the value each of us has with Him.  He remembers the time that Jesus was willing to die in the place of a wicked humanity.  He remembers that we were bought with a great price, the price of Jesus body, and spilt blood.  He remembers that Jesus by the power of Holy Spirit rose from the dead and is now seated on the right hand of the Father.  So, when we ask for forgiveness, He is faithful to forgive and to cleanse us from our sins of unrighteousness.  He takes delight in you even though you are broken, and the best part, Father God as the above Scripture said; “rejoices and sings over you!”  Broken and yet valuable!
