Blessed Are The Peace Makers
Matthew 5:9. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
The World is mixed up with all kind of violence. The headlines read of the many travesties that are happening all around us. Stabbings, shootings, lootings and hidden agendas for illegal profits, and there seem to be a spirit of “I don’t Care”, raising its ugly head in the church. This spirit is lethargic, lazy and willing to watch others sacrifice their efforts, trying to make a difference, trying to make a change, but will not lift a helping hand to achieve the goal set before the Church by Jesus Christ in the Great Commission.
Right down the street, there is a little boy, a little girl being influenced by a world of hate. They are taught to think only of self, to hide behind a mask of pride building a faded dream of having no hope. Hope that appears to be gone, because there is no role models willing to fill in the gap and make up the hedge. Just as in the days of old, Father God always had a remnant. Romans 11:5. So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. Where are the Peace Makers? The Peace Makers are the little old ladies on their knees believing for break-through, hoping families will know Jesus as Savior and Lord, and not just a Biblical character. They are the workers on the job, who go the extra mile serving God, being a good example for others to follow. You can see them in the Bible Studies, where a line is drawn in the sand, and each person holds the other accountable. They are in the High Schools, children who have been taught the way of the Lord, sharing their faith with a friend! Blessed are the Peace Makers!
The Dictionary defines a Peace Maker as one who makes peace especially by reconciling parties at variance. There was a great variance in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve listened to Satan and fell guilty of disobeying God. A sentence was pronounced and from that day forward death was evident to all of mankind. Jesus the Son of the Living God was the ultimate Peace Maker, reconciling man to God, paying the ultimate price with His Blood, with his death, burial and resurrection. Jesus brought all who would receive into right standing with God. Blessed is The Peace Maker.
As you read this article, there is a lot of work to be done, and only a short time to do it. Believe it or not there are some who have not heard the good news of the Gospel, but those who have dedicated their lives to follow Christ can make a difference in their lives. We have to continue to study and pray believing that our Lord will have mercy and allow us to witness to a lost and dying world. If you are a child of God, then you are a Peace Maker, and when we allow the Spirit of the Lord to come into our hearts, we can heal the broken hearted, bring peace whenever and where ever possible. Jesus said: Luke 4:18. “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free. Blessed are the peace Makers!
